Emily Gill is custom jewellery artist and metalsmith based in Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design where she obtained a BFA in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing. Her award winning jewellery has been published in Jewellery Business Magazine, Studio Magazine, MAG, Lark Book publications, and her designs have been represented at the Sculptural Objects and Functional Art Fair (SOFA) Chicago. She grew up in Montreal, Quebec, misses the ocean smell of the East Coast and speaks French as often as possible. Her work is inspired by a long time curiosity for biology, botany, science and all things lively and living. She enjoys the discovery of aesthetic qualities inherent to certain material processes and limitations, incorporating concepts that spark technical and visual curiosity, often addressed with a hint of irony and an understated sense of humour.
